Biography

Kevin S. Gentry earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Wayne State University, where he was a member of the Law Review, Moot Court, and Chair of the Free Legal Aid Clinic.

Following graduation Mr. Gentry clerked for two years for a Michigan Supreme Court Justice and then went into private practice.  His first appellate brief in private practice was awarded the Thomas M. Cooley Law Review Distinguished Brief Award and published in the Cooley Law Review, Vol 19, No 1, p 127.  Since then he has represented over two hundred clients in the Michigan Court of Appeals, Michigan Supreme Court and United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Since 1999, Mr. Gentry has served as an Adjunct Professor of Legal Research, Writing and Advocacy at the Michigan State University College of Law.

Mr. Gentry is licensed to practice in Michigan and admitted to practice in all Michigan state and federal courts, the United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.  Mr. Gentry's cases have been reported on in the Detroit Free Press, Detroit News, Macomb Daily, Livingston County Press & Argus, and Ann Arbor.com, as well as in lead articles in Michigan Lawyers Weekly.  Mr. Gentry has also appeared in Time Magazine and on NBC's Today Show.
